Indian pariah History
Indian Pariah may not be pure native dogs but mixed breeds. They especially found around locations where European colonists historically settled in India. The breed has history that dates back 4,500 years ago and is an example of an ancient group of dogs known as Pye-dogs. In fact, most of the street dogs in the Indian subcontinent are Indian Pye-dogs only. In the year 2015, a breed standard was published in the Indian Kennel Gazette, the publication of Kennel Club of India. Further, the breed has been recognized by the Primitive and Aboriginal Dog Society (PADS) worldwide dog enthusiasts based in the US. |
